Located in Wenzhou, this residential project serves a client with a refined aesthetic sensibility and a strong preference for minimalist style, particularly the pure visual order and elevated texture conveyed by a black-and-white palette. In response, the design adopts Black & White as the dominant tone, complemented by gray tones for transition, returning to the most primal expression of material quality. Through the subtle presentation of material textures, precise control of light and shadow, and restrained selection of furniture and soft furnishings, the space is crafted to balance rational order with emotional warmth. The overall design emphasizes the beauty of negative space and structural clarity, where simplicity is enriched by meticulous detailing, resulting in an environment that aligns with modern living while reflecting the client’s distinctive artistic taste and life philosophy.

The design undertook a systematic reorganization of the interior structure, notably opening up the study and kitchen areas to maximize the public activity zone. This created an open and continuous visual flow, significantly enhancing both spatial transparency and functional efficiency.

The master suite area was also thoroughly optimized: through subtle structural adjustments, a separate storage space was incorporated without compromising comfort, enabling highly efficient organization. In a particularly thoughtful touch, to strengthen the spatial unity and minimalist character, all doors located along one wall, including those to the master bedroom, storage room, and guest bathroom, were treated as concealed elements, seamlessly integrating into the pure white wall surface. This erasure of visual boundaries preserves an undisturbed sense of order, further highlighting the narrative tension and sophisticated texture of the black-and-white scheme. In the kitchen and study, a coordinated hidden door system allows flexible transition between functional zones, effectively expanding the diversity of usage scenarios and enhancing both adaptability and interactivity.

Minimalist magnetic track lighting is recessed into the flat ceiling, reducing the visual weight of the overhead plane while using fine linear accents of light to sculpt layers and introduce a subtle balance of contemporary detail and retro ambiance.
