Located in Hukou, Hsinchu, the residence is designed for a young couple. The inspiration stemmed from the embracing quality of natural light, a wish to create a space that feels tranquil yet never cold. The designers used white as the canvas and light as the brush, allowing daylight to flow gently over pure surfaces, infusing the home like honey seeping into still air. The original circulation was preserved with minimal structural change, embodying the philosophy of simplicity and ease, a home where one can truly live with calm freedom.
At the entrance, a full-height storage wall defines spatial order and extends fluidly into the living and dining areas, turning function into a visual rhythm. The open kitchen features a generous island that doubles as a dining table, The heart of the couple’s daily life.
Given the owner’s passion for wine, the designers integrated metro tiles, a wine cabinet, and fine wood-grained door panels to enrich the kitchen’s expression. Lighting choices blend circular and linear forms, softening the glow into the air and creating a sense of quiet flow. When light falls upon the amber liquid in a wine bottle, it reflects through the curved wall and white panels, rippling like honey in motion. In this suspended stillness, time itself seems to slow.
The private area continues the minimalist narrative. The master bedroom adopts subtle gray-white tones and textured wall patterns, extending seamlessly to the dressing and vanity area. The secondary bedroom, designed for the homeowner’s mother, is rendered in warm white simplicity, evoking the gentle ease of a Muji-inspired retreat.
