This series of silver and enamel rings explores women’s emotional experiences in romantic relationships—especially the longing, anxiety, and attachment often felt during a first love.

In a patriarchal culture, women are often taught to give, wait, and sacrifice in love. This deep emotional investment can lead to pain when those hopes are not returned.

The rings are shaped like frozen bubbles—smooth and fragile, always on the edge of breaking.

The flowing enamel colors on metal reflect shifting emotions, building up and dissolving over time.

The title Ephemeral Illusion comes from a line in the Diamond Sutra:

“All conditioned things are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows—like dew or lightning.”

It reminds us that love, like a bubble, is beautiful but fleeting.

These works invite us to look again at emotional wounds that are often dismissed as trivial.

Even if love fades like a bubble, the feelings once held are real—and deserve to be seen and respected.
