This project is a three-story duplex with a terrace, located in Zhongye Mansion, Hengqin. It embodies a minimalist yet uniquely beautiful aesthetic, seamlessly blending mid-century and French design elements to create a naturally artistic ambiance. The space offers the homeowner a living environment that balances historic charm with modern sensibility, resulting in a home with a distinctive and enduring sense of beauty. Color is the primary element of stylization, and the combination of black, white, and gray tones is most effective in creating an artistic ambiance. By incorporating the natural wood tones of the furniture and the greenery of plants, the space is imbued with a refreshing and organic atmosphere. In terms of decor, the combination of vintage and classic furniture creates an ambiance of refined spatial aesthetics.

The open-plan kitchen is strategically positioned facing the living room and balcony, creating an expansive visual flow. By integrating an island in this location, the design extends the spatial perspective. Furthermore, the extensive use of matte black cabinetry throughout the kitchen lowers the overall brightness, transforming it into a striking focal point of the space. The open kitchen is seamlessly integrated with the island, maximizing functionality within a limited space. We combined the kitchen island with a breakfast area, allowing for flexible use. The small round table provides a casual spot for family members to enjoy breakfast at different times or dine when there are fewer people, while the large round table serves as the centerpiece for family gatherings and shared meals. On the second floor, to accommodate the need for four individual bedrooms for the children, we adopted a “student dormitory” concept in the design. Two shared bathrooms were planned, along with a communal beverage station in the hallway, providing a space for interaction while ensuring personal privacy.
