KINMEN OCEAN ART FESTIVAL - EXQUISITE AROMA

Kinmen is an island with multifaceted natural landscapes and a distinctive cultural history. The ocean, historic battlefields, cultural landscapes, and local products have left imprints on the coexistence of Kinmen residents and the island.



At this year’s Kinmen Ocean Art Festival, art practice serves as a vessel for a deep dive into local neighborhood and co-creations with residents by means of workshops and field research, aiming to transform elements pertaining to the marine culture, battlefield history and the brewing of Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor (KKL) into the exhibiting artworks. Also, the choices of locations reflect the natural and cultural features of Kinmen, where art and natural environment become one at the festival, enabling visitors to embark on a journey of art pieces and heritage sites so as to explore the stories behind Kinmen.



In addition, this year’s festival consists of various events in collaboration with local shops and groups, such as micro-experiment projects, light & water shows, guided bike tours. Accordingly, through co-creation practices, both residents and visitors are allowed to immerse themselves in local culture while enjoying different events, thus making the Kinmen Ocean Art Festival a unique cultural celebration.
