Nanchang Joy City | Treasure Ship, Cloud Sail Towards the Sun
Project Overview
Nanchang Joy City is situated in Chaoyang New City of Nanchang, with direct access to Guanzhou Road Station of Metro Line 4. Covering a total construction area of 327,700 square meters, the project comprises diverse functional complexes: a 6-storey shopping center spanning 125,200 square meters, a 210-meter super-high-rise office building covering 72,500 square meters, a 176-meter super-high-rise service apartment with a floor area of 40,000 square meters, and an 89,500-square-meter underground garage.
Design Philosophy
The project adopts the design concept of "Treasure Ship, Cloud Sail Towards the Sun". It draws inspiration from Jiangxi’s rich mineral resources including copper, silver, fluorite and quartz, while fully leveraging the project’s prime waterfront location on the banks of the Gan River. The design integrates regional resource characteristics and geographical advantages, creating a youthful and vibrant urban lifestyle destination that appeals to young consumer groups.
Architectural Design
The building facade adopts a premium composite material system dominated by silver aluminum panels, paired with glass, orange-red aluminum panels and Taikoo stone, visually interpreting the essence of Jiangxi’s rare mineral resources. The silver-toned main building stretches horizontally, resembling a giant treasure ship cruising on the Gan River. The layered setbacks on the southwest facade simulate the sleek contour of a ship’s bow cutting through waves. Facing the westward urban park, sunset landscape and Gan River, the two high-rise towers feature cloud-reflecting glass curtain walls shaped like soaring sails, jointly shaping the iconic urban landscape of "Cloud Sails Towards the Sun and Treasure Ship Navigating the Waves". Notably, the design echoes the name of the local area — Chaoyang (Towards the Sun), realizing the perfect integration of architectural aesthetics and regional context.
The commercial podium adopts block segmentation and staggered layout techniques to decompose the bulky building volume and enrich the hierarchical sense of the architectural form. A high-definition LED screen is installed at the northeast corner of the project, facing the high-traffic northern urban arterial road. It serves as a striking visual landmark and a core entrance signage for the entire complex.
