About The Entry

“AWAKE” is a post-show reflection system designed for immersive theatre audiences. Unlike traditional performances, immersive theatre asks audiences to move freely through complex spaces, follow fragmented narratives, and build their own version of the story. However, once the performance ends, these intense experiences often become difficult to reconstruct: routes are forgotten, emotional peaks fade, and personal memories remain scattered.

AWAKE responds to this gap by turning the after-show moment into part of the experience. Through a smart wristband that records physiological responses and a positioning system that captures time and location, the app generates personalised post-show content for each audience member. Users can revisit their movement paths, recognise emotional highlights, and add their own annotations to complete the memory.

The system also builds a community experience tailored to immersive theatre culture, including spoiler-sensitive browsing, official interaction, and experience sharing. Rather than treating the performance as a one-time event, AWAKE extends it into an ongoing archive, helping audiences reflect, reconnect, and return, while offering theatres new opportunities for long-term engagement and operation.
