Italian Leisure is a residential interior project that blends natural materials, Italian functionality, and relaxed coastal living into a refined yet deeply livable home experience. Located in a quiet and picturesque seaside town, the project draws inspiration from the effortless comfort and romantic atmosphere unique to coastal life, transforming the residence into a sanctuary of openness, warmth, and understated elegance.

The interior design integrates a rich palette of natural stone, wood, and leather, combined with bespoke furnishings and cabinetry from renowned Italian and French brands. While preserving the authentic textures and colors of natural materials, the project also incorporates the practicality of classic Italian functional cabinetry systems, achieving a balance between aesthetics, convenience, and everyday comfort.

A key design objective was to maximize the villa’s sense of openness and visual transparency while carefully maintaining privacy. Spatial boundaries were softened through strategic architectural interventions. For example, the enclosed storage space beneath the staircase was removed and replaced with an arched opening, allowing uninterrupted sightlines immediately upon entering the home. Similarly, the partition between the study and living room was redesigned as a semi-open fireplace wall, connecting the two spaces at eye level and enhancing interaction between areas without sacrificing spatial hierarchy.

The atomizing fireplace further enriches the atmosphere by introducing soft visual warmth and integrated fragrance functionality, improving both emotional comfort and indoor air quality.

Aesthetically, the project embraces restraint and intentional simplicity. Full-height wood cladding was replaced with expanded areas of negative space to reduce visual heaviness and create a more relaxed rhythm throughout the interior. Layered ambient lighting enhances the romantic character of seaside living, while a curated collection of contemporary original artworks strengthens the home’s artistic identity and elevates its resort-like atmosphere.

Rather than pursuing excessive luxury, Italian Leisure focuses on emotional ease, spatial fluidity, and the quiet elegance of everyday living—offering a contemporary interpretation of relaxed Mediterranean-inspired residential design.
