Longci Light Festival 2026 : Call Of The Wild Woods

The Longci Light Festival is a forest-based nighttime illumination event held at Huxing Mountain Park in Longci, Tainan. Since its launch in 2019, it has brought together site-specific installations and artistic interventions that engage with the local landscape and cultural context, gradually establishing itself as a distinctive regional cultural event.
The 2026 exhibition, titled “Call of the Wild Woods,” responds to Longci’s unique badlands terrain and forest environment. Featuring works by 14 artist groups from Taiwan and abroad, the exhibition integrates light, sound, and interactive installations throughout the mountain trails, transforming the forest into a multi-sensory experience. Visitors navigate the site at night, guided by light, moving through a sequence of spatial encounters that unfold across the landscape.
The exhibition is organized as a continuous journey structured around three stages: awakening, resonance, and blooming, allowing visitors to gradually shift from observation to immersion. Through these light-based interventions, the forest is experienced as a physical environment, and also as a medium through which perception and engagement are shaped.
In addition to the exhibition, the project includes guided tours, workshops, and collaborations with local schools and farmer associations, encouraging public participation and cultural exchange. Sustainability is also embedded in the project, with participating artists incorporating recycled materials into selected works to reduce environmental impact.
Through its integration of landscape, art, and community, the Longci Light Festival continues to strengthen its role as a cultural platform, enhancing the visibility of Longci while contributing to its long-term development.
