TrekBip is a conceptual navigation system designed for pedestrians and micromobility users who move through dense urban environments. Most navigation tools today are optimized for drivers and rely heavily on continuous screen interaction, forcing people on foot to repeatedly check their phones while moving. This behavior increases distraction, interrupts movement flow, and reduces awareness of surrounding space.

TrekBip reimagines pedestrian navigation by shifting directional guidance from visual attention to intuitive physical feedback. The system combines a mobile navigation app with a pair of lightweight wearable wristbands that communicate turn-by-turn directions through patterned LED signals and vibration. Once a destination is set, users can move freely without constantly looking at their phones.

The interaction model is intentionally simple. Bilateral signals indicate forward movement, while left or right signals guide turns. At complex intersections, proportional light patterns communicate directional confidence, helping users choose the correct path quickly and safely.

The mobile interface is designed specifically for walking and micromobility scenarios, including cycling and scooters. A discovery-based home screen allows users to explore nearby destinations within adjustable distance ranges, while the map flow focuses on rapid route setup, bookmarking, and low-friction navigation.

Beyond navigation, the wearable concept incorporates basic biometric sensing such as heart-rate monitoring and integrates an SOS system designed for solo outdoor movement.

TrekBip focuses on reducing screen dependency, increasing spatial confidence, and supporting safer navigation through ambient interaction. By combining mobile UI with wearable sensory feedback, the project proposes a new direction for pedestrian mobility design centered on movement flow, situational awareness, and intuitive guidance.
