Harmonic Qi Spheres is a multisensory therapeutic system that integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine’s Five-Tone Therapy with contemporary emotional biofeedback technologies. Designed for individuals experiencing anxiety, insomnia, or emotional fatigue, the product combines gentle tactile interaction with dynamic visual and auditory feedback to support emotional regulation and mindful restoration in everyday life.
The system centers on a pair of therapeutic spheres inspired by traditional walnut rolling practices, reinterpreted through a soft, ceramic-coated shell that conveys warmth, smoothness, and cultural familiarity. Embedded within the dual-shell structure are HRV sensors, temperature and pressure sensors, and a vibration-resonance module. These components collect biometric indicators of emotional state and translate them into synchronized low-frequency vibrations, each mapped to one of the five tones—gong, shang, jue, zhi, and yu—rooted in classical Chinese healing philosophy.
Real-time biometric data is transmitted to the mobile app, where Processing generates responsive motion graphics that visualise the user’s internal rhythms as flowing color, light, and rhythm. These dynamic visuals externalize emotional fluctuations, allowing users to observe, understand, and gradually rebalance their inner state. Multi-device connectivity further enables the visuals to extend onto screens or projectors, creating an immersive healing environment suited for home relaxation, bedtime unwinding, or post-work decompression.
Harmonic Qi Spheres addresses the contemporary issue of sensory overload and emotional disconnection by offering a low-threshold, culturally grounded, and scientifically informed method of self-regulation. Through the seamless fusion of tactile comfort, generative aesthetics, and bio-emotional feedback, the device encourages users to cultivate awareness, reduce stress, and gently restore equilibrium within their daily routines.
