The 2025 Yehliu Night Tours – Queen’s Head Illumination is a cultural light festival held at Taiwan’s renowned Yehliu Geopark, famous for its rare geological formations and the legendary Queen’s Head rock. This project transforms the coastal landscape into an immersive nighttime journey, blending artistic lighting, live music, and community co-creation to offer a completely new visitor experience after dark.

The event features eight themed light zones, each inspired by Yehliu’s natural rock textures and oceanic elements, guiding visitors through a dreamlike path from aurora-inspired skies to misty fantasy realms. Centered around the Queen’s Head, the design uses precision lighting and projection mapping to highlight the rock’s unique contours while avoiding fragile terrain and minimizing light and noise pollution to ensure environmental friendliness.

The project is rooted in three pillars of sustainability:

Economic: Stimulating night tourism, enhancing local revenue, and increasing community income;

Environmental: Utilizing energy-efficient LED systems and modular, reusable structures to reduce impact;

Social and Cultural: Showcasing the “Queen’s Costume Party” as a central highlight, integrating local co-creation with artists and students, cultural markets, and heritage elements to foster community engagement and identity.

By merging nature, culture, and technology, the event extends Yehliu’s tourism appeal into the nighttime, offering a fresh perspective on Taiwan’s coastal heritage. Through light, music, and storytelling, Yehliu becomes a nighttime stage where geological wonder and artistic expression coexist—elevating visitor experience while championing sustainability, cultural pride, and creative collaboration.
