Fragrance of TaipeiEYE — A Tea-Inspired Olfactory Journey Through Taiwan’s Performing Arts and Daily Rituals

“Fragrance of TaipeiEYE” is a cultural fragrance collection born from Taiwan’s tea heritage and traditional opera. Created in collaboration with Chun Jin Tea, an ecological tea farm in the Sun Moon Lake region, this project transforms locally grown, hand-harvested Jin Xuan and Oolong teas into two evocative scents that celebrate the rituals of life, memory, and artistry.

The teas are cultivated without pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or herbicides, and picked at the ideal “one bud, two leaves” stage. The fragrances are then delicately brewed and infused by hand, capturing the essence of tea’s calm energy and layered aroma.

Each scent bottle is a modern cylindrical form with gold accents, while the packaging features the “Dan” (female role) face from the TaipeiEYE opera troupe—a visual identity that reinterprets cultural tradition through contemporary design.

Formosa Jin Xuan Tea Mist is soft and luminous, echoing the milky sweetness and floral tones of the tea, paired with the elegant rhythm of Xipi and Erhuang melodies. Penglai Oolong Tea Mist evokes earthy depth and quiet strength, like mist winding through forested hills.

This is not just a fragrance duo, but a living expression of Taiwan’s landscape, performing arts, and handcrafted beauty—designed to create a sense of connection and place in every breath.
