Twilight in Grey

Tailored for a young urban dweller, Twilight in Grey reimagines a 66-square-meter residence as a calm, introspective sanctuary grounded in modern simplicity. Guided by a tonal palette of black, white, and layered greys, the space draws inspiration from the quietude of dusk—serene, composed, and texturally rich.



The original layout featured an enclosed kitchen and a narrow living room, resulting in spatial compression and disrupted flow. In response, the design team restructured the plan into an open, integrated living, dining, and kitchen zone, enhancing connectivity and visual openness. A streamlined ceiling with concealed lighting softens structural interruptions, extending spatial perception and reducing visual weight.



In line with the grey-based palette, the design incorporates a mix of textured paint finishes, plain matte surfaces, metal elements, and mineral coatings to create a refined yet layered visual language. Rather than relying on bold contrasts, the space draws its rhythm from subtle shifts in tone—much like city light diffused through urban haze.



Beyond its modern simplicity, Twilight in Grey became a spatial response to the

homeowner’s search for stillness amidst the pulse of city life. By reframing

limitations through light, proportion, and material tactility, the project transforms

constraint into composure, elevating the home into a place of quiet renewal and emotional grounding.
