Balloon Companion II collection is inspired by my "Balloon Phobia" when I was a child, which has always been my childhood memory of fear. This project recalls the scenarios of my childhood fear of balloon and transform them into different stories that apply to the collection. Balloon Companion II is about embracing and recovering from the fear of balloons, it also encourages people to find the most playful way to deal with their silliest fear or relief their stress from anxiety.

With the humorous and surreal narrative, each piece in the collection presents the imaginative and interactive story between the wearer and the balloon as a feature of recovery and therapy. In the collection, Balloon Monster pieces re-imagine fear as something approachable-a friendly monster character. It combines the burst balloon shell as the protective house with a shell pearl inside simbolising the fearful self. The Trophy Bracelet and Trophy Necklace are designed to celebrate and reward the recovery from balloon phobia, they give a positive meaning to the negative and fearful emotion of the balloon with the visual symbol of the trophy, celebrating and playing with fear in an empathetic way.
