Surreal Bistro Tablao Flamenco

Three years ago, during the pandemic, the once-bustling urban center was devoid of crowds. Now, three years later, in 2023, the most vibrant area of Taipei, the Xinyi District, is celebrating its annual Christmas festival with a Spanish theme at the top of the MRT station. An outdoor Spanish tavern has been built twenty meters high to withstand the strong winds. “En cada quejío del flamenco” is said to represent deep emotions with each "lament" of flamenco; a man playing the guitar in the heights expresses the inner turmoil he has felt over the years. The overall atmosphere is one of joy and unity, celebrating the beauty of life and the wonderful ability to gather and revel once again.

The magnificent fans and hand-painted stained glass figures make this celebratory day shine with colorful refracted light during the day, reminiscent of a church, while at night, they transform into vibrant, animated figures. The outdoor lights are connected to the main Christmas tree lights, further enhanced by the bare-eye 3D screen on the second floor of the tavern and the animations of flamenco dance. The overall enthusiasm invites everyone to dance along, raising their glasses of beer in joy, sharing love—“I sharing.”
