About The Entry

The Weita Funnel, located in Weita Village, Shuangshi Town, Lushan County, Ya'an City, is hailed as the world's largest human-inhabited geological wonder. It is situated at the convergence point of the Sichuan Tourism's Large and Small West Loop Lines. After more than 16 million years of the Himalayan orogeny, the Weita Funnel has accumulated a profound historical heritage, witnessing the earth's dramatic changes over time.

The planning scheme, themed "Listening to Weita in Time," focuses on five core areas: cultural tourism, eco-wellness, activity experience, science popularization and research, and industry revitalization. It aims to create a national-level wonder exploration site and a Western Sichuan ecological tourism base that integrates ecology, culture, and leisure.

In terms of design, a "one-axis, two-rings, five-areas, and multiple points" layout is adopted to enhance the order of the landscape. The one-axis serves as the main scenic line, while the two rings consist of a sightseeing trail and a mountain-encircling wellness trail. The five areas include "First Encounter with Weita," "Tea Field Watch," "Ancient Post Town Charm," "Mist-Searching Trail," and "Weita Light Collection." In terms of node design, the focus is on ecological adventure, wellness healing, historical perception, and research insights. There are more than 60 distinctive landscapes, including tea garden boardwalks, field lookout points, cultural squares, jungle adventures, fishing fun, agricultural experiences, and forest slides.
