Autumn Fringe

The design was inspired by the homeowner's preference for a bright and warm atmosphere. The space features a soft, cozy tone with a milk tea color palette, creating a gentle and comfortable feel. As the apartment is a public housing unit with significant age and poor condition, the design team began with a comprehensive infrastructure renovation, including electrical wiring and plumbing updates, to ensure safety and functionality. To meet the needs of both the homeowner and their pets, special features were added, such as a cat platform and dedicated storage space, allowing the residents and their cats to enjoy every corner of the home.

The first highlight lies in the flow. The open social area features curved walls and varying ceiling heights, creating a spacious yet rhythmic visual effect. The curved ceiling design not only adds a soft, calming atmosphere to the space but also provides a playful area for the cats to jump and explore, allowing the homeowner and their pets to interact effortlessly in this warm environment. The curved design resembles the graceful arch of ripe rice stalks, with its natural and fluid lines embodying the aesthetics of living organisms. The lighting design mimics the gentle golden glow of rice stalks in sunlight, creating a soft and lively ambiance.

Another standout feature is the combination of functionality and aesthetics. A double-sided cabinet between the entrance and dining area adds practical storage, keeping the space organized and tidy. Additionally, a section of the raised ceiling was designed with aerial yoga straps, allowing the homeowner to enjoy exercise within the comfort of their home, perfectly blending health-conscious living with aesthetic design.
