For the elderly, comfort in daily living is the most crucial consideration. The project involves the renovation of an old apartment. The designer listened to the seniors' needs and completed the transformation. While addressing practical usage requirements, the designer recognized the excellent natural sunlight and the spacious front yard that could serve as a transitional space. The project extends these natural elements indoors, maintaining a bright and spacious environment. The overall design blends modern sensibilities with a rustic style, infusing warmth into the minimalist aesthetic to create a comforting living space.

-Richly Functional Retirement Home: Elderly individuals often worry about uneven flooring, collisions at corners, and climbing stairs. The designer addressed these concerns by making appropriate adjustments to the flooring, walls, and corners. The space features a level floor, ensuring a smooth experience when using wheeled items. Additionally, as people age, they may experience cold extremities, so the designer thoughtfully included a radiant floor heating system to enhance comfort. Night sensors were also added to reduce visual disturbances.



-Embracing Light for the Family: Located on the ground floor, the property features a recessed courtyard at the entrance. Based on this layout, the designer planned to allow light to "extend indoors." Firstly, the layout was modified to create an open plan, improving visual continuity. A frosted glass sliding door was installed in the study room to offer privacy while allowing natural light. Finally, curved elements were used to accentuate and diffuse light and shadows throughout the space.
