This is a redesign of packaging for Zhenlong cigarette series. Considering that Guangxi is China’s first region to introduce tobacco (where the earliest tobacco pipe in China was unearthed), the packaging depicts scenes including tobacco cultivation/harvest/processing and cigarette making/transportation in Guangxi via line drawing (a Chinesd traditional painting technique), agreeing with its positioning as the packaging for cigarettes.

The dragon-shaped ship symbolizing cigarette transportation echoes “Sail”, which is innovatively designed based on the dragon-shaped ship image of the original packaging for Zhenlong cigarette series to make users feel the transition from the old to the new. The packaging vividly draws a picture about how people in Guangxi at that time processed tabacco, shipped cigarettes, traded with others in commodity distributing centers near wharves, and brought back what were more needed (e.g. tea and porcelain in the picture) to promote local development. Such a design is a salute to the early business model in China.

The gold powder spray technology enables the golden color to harmoniously integrate into the picture, showing a simple yet luxurious style and suggesting the upscale position as well as premium quality of the product.
