The rebirth of an old house

The 45-year-old house is filled with family memories. After taking the needs, likes, and preferences of each member of the family into consideration, the three-story old house represents transformation, renewal, and rebirth. To transform the dark and dreary old house into a cozy and bright space, the modern interiors rely on a crisp, simple, white base layered with ample blank space, mellow wood tones and stone materials. In terms of layout, the main functional areas with window openings at the front and back, while the staircase that provides a means for vertical movement is located in the center. Through horizontal connection and vertical integration, a multi-story abode for a new generation is constructed.
On the exterior of the building, tiles are replaced by waterproof coatings. Shades of gray imply a modern atmosphere. Shades of gray promise a modern interior coupled with an aura of peace and tranquility. The first floor is a public area that encourages emotional communication. The TV wall with grayish-white stone patterns creates a warm welcome. The different floor levels are modified by the storage room, removing the abrupt drop-off that would otherwise be experienced. Then, a corridor leads to the dining room. The linear traffic flow creates smooth and clear pathways. Next to the corridor, the storage cabinet features a circular cutout, turning the fish tank into a vista view at the entrance, injecting a sense of dynamic movement into the static view. Elements of wood and stone create a stable and calming dining space. The bathroom located in the center section is moved to the back to refresh the windowless bathroom. The clean-cut lines are hidden in the bathroom door to create a simple space.
